The Broward County Board of Rabbis welcomes members of the rabbinic community to join our organization and help us build a stronger Jewish community here in South Florida.
In order to be considered for membership, a rabbi must either:
-Be a member, in good standing, of the Central Conference of American Rabbis, the Rabbinical Assembly, the Rabbinical Council of America, or the Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association
OR
-Have been ordained by an institution that is recognized and accepted by the above mentioned rabbinical organizations.
OR
-Have been ordained by a duly ordained, recognized Rabbi in a manner that is considered acceptable to the Membership Committee of the Broward County Board of Rabbis.
Applicants who are not members of the above mentioned national organizations must provide a written explanation, along with their membership application, as to why they have not joined one of the organizations.
The Broward Board of Rabbis expects that all applicants and members uphold the highest moral and ethical standards in his/her rabbinate.
Rabbis seeking membership, must fill out the application below. Once it is received, the Membership Committee will review the applicant's ordination and contact references. Once this process is completed, the committee will bring the application to the board with a recommendation to accept or reject the applicant. The board will vote on the committee's recommendation and the candidate will be informed shortly after the vote.
The 2006-2007 membership fee for members of the Broward County Board of Rabbis is $50 due by June 1, 2006.
