-The Broward County Board of Rabbis has elected a new leadership team that will begin a two year term on June 1, 2006. Elected were: Rabbi Andrew Jacobs, President; Rabbi Cheryl Jacobs, Vice-President; Rabbi Bennet Greenspon, Secretary/Treasurer.
-The Broward Board of Rabbis, in partnership with the Miami Board of Rabbis and with support from UJC, will be breaking ground for a community mikveh that will be open to Reform, Reconstructionist, Conservative, and other liberal Jews. -The Broward Jewish Community is committed to helping the most vulnerable in our community secure necessary provisions and shelter both before and after a hurricane. Jewish Family Service of Broward County is ready to provide for a variety of emergency needs. During hurricane season, those in our community who may have issues with obtaining food, water, shelter, medication, transportation or communication are urged to develop a plan of action. This would include making sure you have a contact person who can call you or look in on you immediately after the storm passes.
